iOur Extended Care Unit, (ECU), is a 60 bed skilled nursing facility (SNF) focusing on the senior population, conveniently located within Person Memorial Hospital (PMH). ECU offers several advantages over other skilled facilities in the area. There are 26 private rooms. In addition to its Medicare/Medicaid certification, on-site XRAY/Lab services.
Our location within the hospital makes it convenient for your physician and surgeon to visit as well as your friends and family. Unexpected medical emergencies have prompt access to our Emergency Room. We provide short-term rehabilitation for individuals who qualify, as well as long-term care. Comprehensive rehabilitation services including physical, occupational and speech therapies seven days a week. ECU also works with Hospice providing end of life care and support to loved ones for those in need of their service.
Our residents have access to a variety of services. ECU contracts with an outside pharmacy to provide safe medication management. A full-service dietary department works closely with the Registered Dietician and residents to meet their individual dietary needs. A personal laundry service can be provided as well as an outside linen service. Additional amenities furnished include television, phone and local phone service, fully electric hospital beds, and state-of-the-art call bell/wander guard system. Other optional amenities are beauty and barbershop services and a licensed manicure service.
ECU offers an exciting daily activity program. Residents enjoy games, crafts, reminiscing, special events, music and spiritual programs. Monthly outings are coordinated using Person County's transportation service (PATS). Family participation and support are welcomed. Pre-approved pet visitation is encouraged.
An interdisciplinary Care Planning team works with the residents and families to provide an individualized treatment plan. Our caring, dedicated staff works hard to provide a nurturing, home-like environment.
